What Is A Green Roof?

a green roof is a roof that has plants on it to slow down the release of the water that falls on it, as well as to reduce the “Heat Island” effect that is caused by the sun rays bouncing off a roof and increasing the area’s ambient temperature. Another effect of a green roof on a house, or building, is that thye lower heating and cooling costs due to the added layer of insulation provided by the foliage and the soil under it. If you’re thinking about building or renovating your home, call some local roof installers and ask them about the costs and benefits of adding a green roof to your home.
